PHILIP BLAIR-LEWIS

A heartfelt documentary short about absence, presence and the meaning which we derive from them.

For my student film I elected to use the freedom provided by the academic context to explore mixed mediums and tell a story I find personally meaningful. The opportunity to experiment being dear to me, I dipped my toes into watercolour painting for this project after 2 years of largely digital art. The backgrounds and character colour were all done on paper and retouched in Photoshop, while I did the linework in Toonboom Harmony. Each scene was assembled first in adobe AfterEffects before the final edit in Premiere.
